What I’m working towards in 2016? Definitely, world peace (cue Ms. Universe’s victory wave).
Squeezing some time in between emails to write this blog post. Seems like everyone has moved on from new year’s resolutions and I haven’t started. I am a procrastinator by choice, clearly. Before I get down (and not dirty) writing about what I hope for in 2016, I have to make an ode to 2015. It was a good 12-month run. It proved to be a trying year but, I got out alive and there was a lot to be thankful for.
I remember sitting down at Kaw Kaw Café one Friday evening with Luq talking about our year in 2015. Sure – I didn’t get that job from Twitter and the search for a new job prevails. But, I’ve done pretty well in other things like clearing my credit debt (woohoo I am finaly debt free), saving up for my wedding (the biggest saving I’ve done yet), securing a house with my man (I am already looking at home décor ideas, too soon?), buying a car with Luq (hello countless season parking tabs and whatnots).
See – I am an adult now. What’s shopping? I’ve got bills to pay yo’. If there’s anything that 2015 has taught me, it is – if there’s a will, there’s definitely a way.
Of course, I have forged a better relationship with people that matter most in my life too. I’m growing to love spending time with my family every weekend. They’re precious and times with them are worth cherishing. This is one thing that I will definitely keep doing for many years to come.
So in 2016 I am just looking forward to marry the love of my life. And this will be one of the bigger milestones in my life. In Shaa Allah 🙂
May you have a wonderful year ahead!
