The only wifey thing I’ve done thus far was to unwrap a fillet-o-fish for my husband to eat while he was driving. 1o points for me, surely.
Days leading to the big day was manic. I was still running errands the day before my wedding – only got to sleep past 2 am. And everything that could have gone wrong on the wedding day, did go wrong. I kid you not. First of many things would be, there wasn’t a chair at my dais – were you expecting me to sit on the stage with my mega-ass long train? Second, the Tok Kadi was 15 mins late for our solemnization – and, everyone else just had to be early on that very day. Well, those were just two of the many things… but heck it, we had a fantastic good time despite all that.
Obviously, that wasn’t me. Nope, not guilty.
I had a fantastic time with my girls last night. I knew there was going to be a dinner and a sash (because I asked for it, some things you need to be very clear about), but a bridal shower!!! Hehe, I was over the moon last night.
So… I got to be a blonde with short bob and bangs. My goodness, those are the three things I’ve been secretly wanting to have. I looked like the crazy bride from Mean Girls (you know the one Lindsay Lohan dressed as for Halloween). I had to eat, drink and walk around Arab Street looking like a drag queen as quoted by my brother. I don’t remember when was the last time I did something quite outrageously like that. Even a cat was totally judging my scene.
With May(hem) swinging in, we are down to our last three months before the big day. Not sure if what we’re feeling counts as wedding jitters, but there’s this tingling feeling in the air, stomach and everywhere else that you can think of. Planning this big day has been quite a ride. Just when you think you have crossed that hurdle, another one comes smacking right in your face. From my experience, the hurdles come in various forms – you won’t even guess that it is even remotely possible in the first place. Then when it happens, I’d call my rescue team (Luq, who else?).
But despite all that (some of which I failed to anticipate – no one gets it right the first time!), I can’t be more thankful for having talented family members in my life. You know how frustrating it can be dealing with vendors who don’t even know you, your style and how much minimum is minimalist enough. So, having these people in my life is truly a blessing.
I have been deliberating between these two options for my wedding. I didn’t know the existence of fascinators (let alone its name) until Amp’s wedding. It looked so pretty on her that I instantly sent an image of her to Luq – yes, all the way from Cuba where 3G (not even 4G) is scarce!
I want that for my wedding too.
I just came back from Kuala Lumpur (KL) recently for my cousin’s wedding. Luq and I thought of making a short weekend getaway out of it too. Honestly, I can’t seem to handle going away for just the weekend anymore. It’s actually pretty tiring – especially the part at the airport. I was pretty knackered when we touched down on Sunday evening (and hungry too!). I used to dream about travelling to somewhere nearby with my kids in the future at least once every two months. I will need to relook into this again. L A U G H O U T L O U D!
For a long time I have been searching high and low for the perfect shampoo. Like all other things in life, this is proving to be quite a mission impossible. I am certain it is my hair. I have tried the cheap ones from superstores to the ones recommended by my stylist. Speaking of my stylist, I have not been going over to get my hair done because the girl needs to save and the thought of splurging a couple of hundreds to pamper my hair monthly seemed careless. Seriously, #whatishappening to me. One time, when I wanted to trim my bangs not at my usual salon, the hairdresser looked at my hair unimpressed of course and asked if I have given birth before because I am losing hair. I hate the salons you are supposed to make me feel good!
I have been reading up about home hair remedies. For one, they look pretty doable. What’s so hard about cracking an egg on your head? Lol, I did not try that one yet! For another, they are definitely cheaper alternatives. I mean my dad goes to the grocer to get eggs every other day. I do not even need to spend money to pamper my hair! Gold!
